Group prepares for childrens therapeutic horseback riding

The Hi-Line Therapeutic Riding Association program is preparing for its sixth summer of therapeutic and recreational riding for disabled children.

There will be two four-week sessions. The children can attend either on Tuesdays or Thursdays.

The sessions will begin on June 4 and end Aug. 1. HILTRA is anticipating 20 children will participate in the program this summer.

A physical therapist and three volunteers participate in the riding experience for each child. The sessions will cost $25 a week per child.

The organization provides the service to children and families in the Hi-Line area. Sessions will take place at the Bigger Better Barn at the Hill County Fairgrounds in Havre.

If you or an organization you belong to care to donate to this self-esteem building experience for disabled children, contact HILTRA or send a tax-exempt donation to HILTRA, P.O. Box 786, Havre, MT 59501.

HILTRA provides therapeutic and recreational horseback riding for individuals with physical, mental and behavioral challenges and who are striving to improve the quality of life for themselves and their families. HILTRA is a nonprofit organization that is based in Havre, but serves the entire Hi-Line area.
