BESS CLARK, Obituary

Bess F. Clark, 75, a retired RN, died Friday, May 31, 2002, at a Havre care center of natural causes.

Viewing began Saturday afternoon and continued Sunday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at

the Holland and Bonine Chapel with Father Jim O'Neil officiating. Burial will follow at the Calvary Cemetery. A luncheon will be at the Eagles Club in Havre immediately after the graveside services.

Bess was born March 3, 1927, to John and Sadie (Marshall) Henley in Govenlock, Saskatchewan, Canada. Bess attended schools in Canada and graduated from high school in 1945. She attended nursing school at Sacred Heart Hospital in Havre and graduated as a registered nurse in 1949. She became a U.S. citizen May 11, 1953. Bess worked at the Sacred Heart Hospital, Deaconess Hospital and also at the Rocky Boy Health Clinic. She retired from nursing in 1990.

She married Chester M. Clark on November 22, 1948. The couple had three children.

Bess enjoyed her family. She loved to fish in the Bear Paw Mountains and camp with the circle-the-wagon gang.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Harry J. Clark; daughter, Julie Larson; and ex-husband Chester M. Clark.

She is survived by her son, Chester D. and wife Cindy Clark of Rapid City, S.D .; brother, Frank Henley of Canada; sister, Nellie Schmidt of Canada; grandchildren, Toni Mariani of Havre, C.D. Clark Jr. of Rapid City, S.D., Jamie Larson of Glasgow, Christopher J. Clark of Rapid City, S.D., and Cale R. Clark of Rapid City, S.D .; and two great-grandchildren.
