ARTHUR MALISANI, Obituary

GREAT FALLS Arthur John Malisani, 63, Great Falls, a business owner, died Saturday, June 8, 2002, of heart failure at a Great Falls hospital.

The rosary is 7 p.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Schnider Funeral Home. Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Arthur John Malisani was born Aug. 24, 1938, in Great Falls to Art Malisani and Brunetta Del Papa. He attended schools in Great Falls and graduated from Great Falls Central High School in 1956. He also attended Montana State University.

He married Dorothy "Clay" Klimper on June 18, 1960, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fromberg.

At the time of his death, he was the chief operation officer of Malisani, Inc. The high point of his career was receiving the Craftsman of the Year award for Terrazzo work at the Great Falls International Airport and the Small Family Business of the Year award for Montana in 1999. He received a patent for kneepads he developed for installing epoxy floors.

He was president of the Malisani company for more than 30 years, and with his guidance the company went from doing only Terrazzo work to adding ceramic tile, natural stone fabricating and monuments.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Monsignor Matthew McHugh Assembly.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Angelo, who died at birth.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy "Clay" Malisani; daughters, Angie Beck of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Linda Malisani of Girona, Spain, and Ann Salisbury of Billings; sons, Art Malisani Jr. and Tony Malisani, both of Great Falls, and John Malisani of Havre; sister, Jeanette Yeager of Black Eagle; brothers, Robert Malisani of Cascade and Don Malisani of Cheney, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; daughters-in-law, Renee, Karen and Laura; sons-in-law, Guy Beck and Shane Salisbury.

Memorials are suggested to the McLaughlin Research Center.
