Festival Days dates set

The 22nd celebration of Havre Festival Days is scheduled for Sept. 20-22.

"A Celebration of Havre's Heritage" is the theme for this year's celebration.

Many of the traditional community activities will take place: Friends of the Library book sale, Kiwanis pancake feed, Hi-Line Quilt Guild's festival of quilts, 48-hour softball tournament, fun run/walk, E-1 Towing demolition derby, and the Jaycee punt, pass and kick competition.

The Chamber's sponsored craft show will be held at the Hill County Fairgrounds Sept. 21-22. There are still some spaces available for the show. The deadline to register is Aug. 1.

The Havre Festival Days parade will include participation by many Shrine entries. Havre will be hosting the state Shrine convention that weekend. Gary & Leo's Fresh Foods is sponsoring the pet and doll parade.

A new activity this year will be "Havre's great ball drop," sponsored by the Ambassadors Committee of the Chamber.

The weekend's activities will kick off the evening of Sept. 20 with the celebration of the new Town Square park. The ribbon-cutting event will take place at 6 p.m., followed by a pitchfork fondue, music and entertainment.
