GLADYS MUMMEY, Obituary

HARLEM Gladys Shupe Mummey, 82, died on Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at a Malta nursing home due to natural causes.

Funeral services will be held Saturday in the Harlem High School Little Gymnasium in Harlem. Burial will follow in the Harlem Cemetery.

Mummey was born on March 28, 1920, in Shelley, Idaho, to James and Rosetta Shupe. Her family migrated to Montana and found their home in the Milk River Valley. She married Clifford Mummey on June 21, 1937. Nine children were born to this union.

Mummey worked various jobs throughout her lifetime. Most of them were serving the public.

She enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, playing cards, and doing handiwork.

She is survived by all of her nine children, Clifford (Gloria) Mummey Jr. of Boulder, Sally Neer of Chester, Letty (Lee) Williams of Landusky, Linda (Duane) Tangen of Harlem, Wallace Mummey of Harlem, Judy (Murl) Booth of Shelby, Debbie (Floyd) Webb of Chester, Rocky (Paula) Mummey of Malta, and Mike (Marlene) Mummey of Hays; sisters, Lou Miller of Malta and Florence Moon of Eugene, Ore.; 21 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the Harlem Ambulance or to one's choice.

Edwards Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
