Rodeo queen pageant set

A Miss Northern Montana rodeo queen pageant will be held Aug. 9-10.

Organizers are cutting a wide swath geographically. The pageant will include candidates from Shelby to Wolf Point, Wolf Point to Lewistown, Lewistown to Great Falls, and Great Falls to Havre.

Queen competitors will be 18 to 23 years of age. Princess competitors will be 10 to 17, and Little Miss will be 9 and younger.

The winner in each age group will receive prizes and attend the Miss Rodeo Montana pageant in Great Falls during the 2003 District Finals. All three winners will participate in a Miss Rodeo Montana Style Show there.

Successful candidates must be skilled horsewomen, must have intelligence with a healthy dose of common sense, and must project a pleasant, well-groomed appearance, exemplifying wholesomeness of youth and Western tradition.

Great Falls is hosting a rodeo queen clinic on July 30 for girls 9 to 19 years of age. The cost is $50 and includes a resource notebook. For more information, contact Jody Rempel at (877) 855-6583.
