Three MDT projects planned

The Montana Department of Transportation is looking for comments on three projects proposed in north-central Montana, with a total construction cost of about $14 million.

The draft Statewide Transportation Improvement Program recently released by MDT include a project about 25 miles north of Havre, reconstructing nine miles of State Road 233 at a cost estimated at more than $6 million.

Another project would recycle and resurface 9.3 miles of U.S. Highway 2 from the Hill County line east, at an estimated cost of about $3 million.

The plan also proposes resurfacing U.S. Highway 87 for about 37 miles between Loma and Box Elder, at an estimated cost of $5 million.

MDT is looking for public comment on proposed projects to help it plan future work on transportation infrastructure. The projects would begin in the next three years.
