Erickson inks three transfers for Skylights

Montana State University-Northern basketball coach Mike Erickson has added three more recruits to his Skylights team for the 2002-2003 season.

Michelle Jackson, a 5-foot-9 forward from Tucson, Ariz., is transferring to Northern from Arizona Western. Jackson averaged 6.2 points points per game and six rebounds per game last season. She is a physical player who the Skylights expect to contribute at both forward positions, Erickson said.

"She is a tweener type player who can work you inside or knock down a three," Erickson said. "Michelle's a warrior who isn't afraid to mix it up on either end of the floor. Michelle will give the Skylights depth at several positions."

Jackson also led her team in free-throw percentage at 67 percent.

Francine KillEagle is also transferring to join the Skylights. KillEagle is a 6-foot junior post player from Dodson. She is transferring from Dawson Community College where she averaged 12.5 points ppg and 47 total block shots this past season.

"Francine will bring a great deal of experience and size to the team," Erickson said. "She is a great full-court player as she is able to run the court offensively and defensively to control the boards."

Khadigah Mohammad is transferring from one of the most dominant junior colleges in the nation in Central Arizona Junior College, Erickson said.

Mohammad is a 5-foot-11 forward originally from Rincon High School in Tucson, Ariz., where she was the student athlete of the year. She was elected to the National Deans List for the 2001-2002 school year and plans to major in pre-med at Northern.

Last year at Central Arizona she averaged seven ppg, two steals and six rebounds to help her team receive a national tournament berth.

"Khadigah is one of the most athletic girls that I have seen in along time," Erickson said. "She is capable of dribbling the ball up the court, to shooting the three-point shot, to posting up. With such a great arsenal of athletic talent, she will be used in many different positions on the court."

Mohammad also competed in track at Central Arizona where she high jumped 5 feet 9 inches, ranking her third in the nation for junior college schools.
