Rocky Boy man sentenced and fined in meth case

Rueben McDowell, a resident of the Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation, was sentenced to 10 years and 10 months in prison last Thursday.

McDowell had pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiring to distribute methamphetamine. He was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Sam E. Haddon in Great Falls. Along with the prison sentence, McDowell is to pay $100 and serve five years of supervised release.

The sentence stems from a two-year investigation by the FBI and the Cascade County Sheriff's Office, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in Great Falls. Investigators found that McDowell had purchased or was supplied with three to five pounds of meth for resale, the press release said.
