Erickson inks three local Skylights

Montana State University-Northern women's basketball coach Mike Erickson has announced the final three signees for the upcoming Skylights season.

His latest three signees are all from the Hi-Line area and include Kadee Carnahan from Malta, Kristie Pullin from Box Elder and Kelly Acra from Chinook.

Carnahan attended MSU-Northern last year as a student but did not play basketball. Carnahan, a 5-foot-7 guard, was a three-year starter for the Mustangs and earned all-conference honors twice and all-state honors once. She was a member of two state championship teams.

"Kadee comes from one of the best girls high school programs in the state and will be very fundamentally sound on both ends of the court," Erickson said. "We are very lucky to have Kadee as a part of the family."

Pullin, a 5-foot-5 guard, averaged 23 points per game, six assists and five steals. She graduated as the valedictorian of her class and was selected to the Class C All-State team in 2001.

"I feel very fortunate to have Kristie as a part of the program. She was one of the best guards in the state last year," Erickson said. "Kristie brings an exciting up-tempo style of play to the court with not only her athleticism but her up-beat personality. Kristie will be a great guard in this league."

Acra is a 5-foot-9 post player and plans to major in nursing. She averaged eight points, nine rebounds and shot 69 percent from the free-throw line. She was a three-year varsity letter winner, three-year academic all-state player and graduated with a 3.6 grade point average.

"Kelly is going to be a great future player for the Skylights," Erickson said. "She has great fundamentals on both ends of the court. She is very strong, which will help her compete in this league and become very successful. She has a great work ethic and is very willings to make herself the best she can be.

"We are looking forward to having her as a part of the Skylight program."
