HOMER FIELDS, Obituary

PORTLAND, Ore. Homer Burton "Burt" Fields, 74, of Portland, Ore., died Tuesday, July 16, 2002.

Funeral service with military honors will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Lincoln Memorial in Portland.

Fields was born April 4, 1928, in Rudyard and was raised in Rudyard and Fairfield.

Burt served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He lived in Great Falls from 1961-63. He lived in Portland since 1963.

He married Marie Claire Sorenson on Feb. 23, 1964.

Burt was a journeyman boilermaker and a member of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Local 500. He also was a member of local 72, IBEW local 48, and VFW Post 1325.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Claire Fields of Portland; daughters, Lisa Fields, Cheryl Lindquist, Wanda Hepler, Deborah Luper, Tina Dolan; sister, Mabel Hagen; brothers, Oscar Fields and Alan Schwartz; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Hopewell House in Portland.
