LUCILE THOMAS, Obituary

Lucile Carolyn Webster Thomas, 91, of Havre died Saturday, July 27, 2002, of natural causes at a Havre care center.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Aug. 15 at The Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel, with Pastor Catherine Card officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Havre. There will be a fellowship gathering at the First Lutheran Church in Havre following the interment.

Lucile was born June 19, 1911, to John Winfield and Lois (Wilhelm) Webster in Othello, Wash. She grew up in and around Walla Walla, Wash., and graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1929. She attended Washington State University for one year and then Walla Walla Business College, where she graduated.

On June 9, 1932, she married Everett H. Thomas in Wenatchee, Wash. To this union one son was born.

She was a bookkeeper for The Valley Fruit Company in Walla Walla and worked in several offices in the area while her husband attended Washington State University. Later the family moved to Great Falls due to her husband's employment. Upon his retirement in 1970, the family moved to Hemet, Calif., and then came to Havre in 1995. Everett died on Feb. 14, 1997.

Lucile enjoyed reading about and visiting ghost towns in Montana and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lois Webster; and husband, Everett H. Thomas.

Survivors include her son, Everett J. (Pat) Thomas of Keller, Texas; sister, Merriam Juhnke of Seatac, Wash.; grandson, Brent Thomas of Fort Collins, Colo.; granddaughter, Marra Thomas of Lakewood, Colo.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home in Havre.
