Valley Furniture takes tourney with 7-6 win

Valley Furniture captured the City Babe Ruth Tournament with a 7-6 win over runner-up Norther Montana Hospital in a rain-shortened finale.

The Railroad Pagers ended up in first place in the final Babe Ruth League standings with a 15-1 record.

Scores in the recent tournament were:

Game 1 Valley Furniture 12, Wells Fargo 5

Game 2 Northern Montana Hospital 2, Optimist Club 1

Game 3 Railroad Pagers 6, Northern Montana Hospital 7

Game 4 Wells Fargo 8, Optimist Club 1

Game 5 Valley Furniture 5, Railroad Pagers 3

Game 6 Northern Montana Hospital 15, Wells Fargo 4

Game 7 Northern Montana Hospital 9, Railroad Pagers 4

Championship Valley Furniture 7, Northern Montana Hospital 6

The final standings in the Babe Ruth League were:

Railroad Pagers, 15-1

Valley Furniture, 8-8

Northern Montana Hospital, 7-9

Optimist Club, 6-9-1

Wells Fargo, 3-12-1

The Railroad Pagers are coached by Frank Christian, Dan Wagner and Jim Donovan. Team members include: Gary Wagner, Mike Olson, Nick Daniel, John Christian, Tyler Hedalen, Cody McLean, Kyler Way, Nathan Harade, Justin Trethewey, Billy Wagner, Tanner Donovan and Tim McLean.

Valley Furniture is coached by Gary Anderson, Larry Jarvis and Eric Lybecker. Team members include: Tyson Anderson, Richard Jarvis, Zach Ramberg, Tom Knutson, Michael Erickson, Marshall Cartwright, Matt Headstrom, Chris Brandt, Levi Filler, Chase Hadford, Justin McLeod, Nathan Oak and Grayson Vukasin.
