Normandy is tourney champ

Blue Pony Trent Normandy was the medalist at the Butte Central Invitational Golf Tournament held Monday at the Butte Municipal Golf Course.

Normandy had a 71 at the 18-hole tournament.

Jon Johnstone of Havre took second place in the tournament with a 72.

Here's how other Blue Ponies fared: Eric Ward, 78; Brandon Morse, 84; and Ben Erickson, 87.

Overall, Dillon took first with a 301. Havre was second with 305. Butte High was third with 312, Bozeman JV fourth with 316, and Butte Central was fifth with 327.

Three Havre girls participated. Ryan Hamilton finished with a 103, Heather Bowker had 110 and Amanda Brock shot a 112.

Dillon girls placed first, overall, followed by Butte High, Park and Bozeman JV. They were the only teams to have enough girls to have a team.

The Pony golfers are in Lewistown today, and go to Great Falls Thursday and Friday.
