Skylights are third at North Dakota tourney

The Montana State University-Northern Skylights volleyball team won three and lost one to place third this weekend at the 2002 Dickinson State Volleyball Classic.

The Skylights defeated Black Hills State on Friday 26-30, 30-28, 30-28 and 30-27. Emmy Olson led with six aces. Tamecia Watkins had 17 of the Skylights' 61 kills, and Hannah Nutting had 53 of the team's 61 assists. The team had 10 total blocks, with six coming from Tanja Bruski.

The Skylights also defeated Jamestown College on Friday with 17 total blocks and scores of 30-26, 28-30, 33-31, and 30-28.

Minot State on Saturday defeated Northern 21-30, 30-15, 30-25 and 30-26.

The Skylights' third win came against South Dakota Tech with scores of 19-30, 30-22, 32-30 and 30-23.

Here are the final results: National American, 4-0; Dickinson State, 3-0; MSU-N, 3-1; Carroll College, 3-2; Rocky Mountain, 2-2; Montana Tech, 2-2; Minot State, 1-3; Black Hills, 1-3; South Dakota Tech, 1-3; and Jamestown College, 0-4.
