Havre Pride is Sept. 14

The Havre Pride cleanup will be held Sept. 14 from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

The project is a communitywide effort to clean up Havre. The goal of the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce's Havre Pride Committee, headed by Kim Cripps, is to get community members working together for the cleanup and to educate people on the subject of litter and community pride.

Business owners and managers are asked to wipe down, sweep out and clean up the areas around their stores while community volunteers cover the city picking up loose trash along streets and highways.

People and organizations that would like to take part in the communitywide spring cleaning effort can call Cripps at 265-4353 with the area they want to clean.

The trash redemption sights are the Sixth Avenue ballfield, Noon's at Highland Park, the VFW parking lot, Stromberg's Sinclair and the area on the north side at the North Havre Community Food Bank.

Coupons, donated by local businesses, will be given for each 20-pound bag of street trash picked up and redeemed at any of the five redemption trash sites.

Trash bags may be picked the morning of Havre Pride, starting a 8:30 a.m. at any of the five redemption sites.

Household trash will not be accepted. Street trash is defined as trash that is picked up from city streets and alleys as well as from city parks.

There will also be trucks available upon request to pick up trash. Call Kim at 265-4353 this week to get on the pickup list. Call 265-0905 on Saturday.
