JAMES DOYLE, Obituary

TURNER James "Pat" Doyle, 88, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at the home of his daughter in Renton, Wash., surrounded by his wife and family.

Memorial services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Turner High School Gymnasium with burial following in the Turner Cemetery. A reception will follow at the school.

Pat was born Nov. 14, 1913, in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. he was raised in Canada and Montana.

In his youth, Pat was working in the state of Oklahoma and met a young lady named Ethel Janow. They fell in love and were married in Casper, Wyo.

Pat worked in the construction industry until being called into the service as a SeaBee in the Navy during World War II. In 1946, Pat returned home and moved to Turner. Pat and his brother, George Doyle, operated a garage in Turner until 1956. Then Pat began his flying career as a pilot. He continued to purse flying and became a commercial crop duster and formed Doyle Air Spray. He continued his passion of flying until retiring in 1982.

Pat also felt privileged to be a bus driver for the Turner School, transporting kids to school and teams to events throughout the state.

Pat loved his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all.

Pat was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Doyle; grandson, Jason Doyle; two sisters; and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Ethel Doyle of Turner; daughters, Carol Malloy of Newhall, Calif., Sandy Thompson of Renton, Wash., and Mikel Doyle of Auburn, Wash.; brothers, George Doyle of Medical Lake, Wash., Joe Hutton of Billings, Glenn Hutton of Turner; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
