RUSSELL OLSON, Obitaury

Russell Olson, 85, lifetime Bear Paw rancher, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, at a Havre hospital due to natural causes.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel in Chinook with burial following in Kuper Memorial Cemetery.

Russell was born April 28, 1917, in Chinook to Fred and Martha (Solomon) Olson. He grew up in the Bear Paws and attended the Faber School for his elementary education. He attended high school in Havre.

He married Marjorie Thompson on May 29, 1940, in Fort Benton. Russell lived and ranched in the Bear Paws his entire life. His life evolved around his family, friends, ranch and his herd of Hereford cows.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie in 1990; parents, Fred and Martha; brother, Edward Olson; sisters, Edith Olson, Marie Grant, Elizabeth Hill and Ruth Hofeldt.

Survivors include his daughters, Anna Rae (Lee) Miller of Chinook, Colleen (Phil) Leeds of Wenatchee, Wash., Bonnie (Russell) Williamson of Havre, Rita (Rick) Grabofsky of Chinook; brother, Harry Olson, and sisters, Elsa Pomeroy and Janet Olson, all of Chinook; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren;

Memorials are suggested to one's choice.

Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook.
