Poet to discuss U.S. 2 trip, book

Poet Michael Czarnecki is stopping at the Havre-Hill County Library tonight at 7 as he travels across the country on U.S. Highway 2 to research a book about the journey.

Czarnecki departed Houlton, Maine, on Aug. 26, starting a more than 2,500-mile trip through 11 states toward Everett, Wash. He plans to write a memoir of the trip titled "Far North, Far West," written in haibun, a Japanese literary form combining prose and haiku.

The presentation at the library will go over his trip so far.
