Historical speaker brings tales to Heritage Center

Montana Historical Society interpretive historian Ellen Baumler is returning to Havre for a second year in the Heritage Center Celebrity Luncheon series, but with a new topic.

Last year, Baumler opened the series with ghost stories she learned while researching the history of Montana. This year her topic is more down to earth "Devil's Perch: Prostitution from Suite to Cellar in Butte, Montana."

Baumler will follow her lecture and slide show with one or more ghost stories, including a new addition to her repertoire, a ghost story from the Hi-Line.

Following the luncheon, which begins at noon Wednesday on the third floor of the Heritage Center, Baumler will have copies of her latest book, "Spirit Tailings: Ghost Tales from Virginia City, Butte and Helena," available for autographing.
