Kids waterfowl days scheduled

The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks will co-sponsor the 2002 Waterfowl Days for youth at the Sun River Skeet Club in Great Falls on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day.

The two, daylong workshops are for youth 12 to 15 years of age who have successfully completed a Montana hunter education course and who have all the proper waterfowl hunting licenses and written permission from a parent or guardian. Youth from around the state are welcome.

Workshop topics include hunting safety, ethics and traditions, rules and regulations, shooting skills and judging distance, and using and retrieving hunting equipment. Ammunition will be provided, as well as some guns. Youths are encouraged to bring steel-shot compatible shotguns. Youngsters will receive two free rounds of skeet plus a free Ducks Unlimited Greenwing membership.

To register or obtain further information, contact Wil Dubielczyk at (406) 965-2662 or by e-mail at [email protected]. Or call Dan Smith at (406) 454-5858.

Registration is required and space is limited. Registration forms are available at Scheels All Sports, Big Bear Sports Center and the Great Falls FWP office.
