RONALD JORDAN, Obituary

CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif. Ronald Edwin Jordan, 79, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, at a California hospital.

Memorial services were scheduled for today at the Chapel of the Valley in Citrus Heights, Calif. Interment with honor guard will be at the Northern Nevada Veterans Cemetery in Fernley, Nev.

Ron was born on Jan. 21, 1923, in Buckeye, Wash.

He served his country during World War II, including service at Normandy and the Battle of the Bulge.

He married Mary Baltrusch and they moved to Havre in 1950. Ron worked in Havre as a brakeman for the Great Northern Railway for 10 years. He also tended bar at the VFW Club while Mary worked for Baltrusch Construction. Although the family later moved to California, Ron always returned to Havre in the summer to drive truck during harvest for the Baltrusch boys.

In 1978, Ron and Mary returned to Montana and lived in Great Falls. Ron owned his own trucking company, R & M Trucking. He was leased to Rice Truck Lines where he later became a sales representative.

Montana was never far from Ron's heart. he enjoyed the stream and lake fishing and loved the beauty of the countryside. Montana Magazine as well as any book or article of Montana were his favorite reading material. His immediate family now resides in the Sacramento area of California, though many of his family and friends still live in the Havre area.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary; daughter, Janell (Dale) Yung of Scotts Valley, Calif.; sons, Jerry (Laura) Jordan of Rocklin, Calif., and Jeff (Yvette) Jordan of Lindon, Utah; seven grandchildren.
