State holds hunting dogs photo contest

There is nothing like a good hunting dog. That is why the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks is hosting a hunting dog photo contest, simply as an excuse to share the pleasure of a good dog.

Hunters can enter their favorite photographs of their hunting dogs or submit new photos taken this fall. Photos must be received by FWP no later than Oct. 31. Write your name, full address and phone number on a yellow sticky note, the dog's name, breed if known, dog's age, what it hunts, and the location and year the photo was taken. Attach the sticky note to the back of the photo or to a 3x5 card.

Mail the photos to Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, Attn: Photo Contest, P.O. Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620-0701. Or e-mail your digital jpeg photos to [email protected] with the information identifying the pictures. By entering your photo you agree to allow FWP to use the image in its press releases and on the FWP Web site.

Finalist photos in categories like Best of Breed, Funniest Point, Best Companion, Most Enthusiastic, and more, will appear on the FWP Web site this winter Dec. 15 to Feb. 14. Finalists will receive a glossy, poster-sized reprint of their dog's photo as well as miscellaneous mementos to be announced during the course of the contest. FWP will return all photos that have addresses attached after the finalists have been selected. For more information call (406) 444-3079 or e-mail [email protected].
