WM. DEAN HOWARD, Obituary

AUBURN, Wash. William "Dean" Howard, 66, Auburn, Wash., formerly of Havre, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at a Seattle hospital of natural causes.

A memorial service will be held in Havre at 4 p.m. Thursday at the Elks Club hospitality room with a celebration-of-life potluck dinner to follow. The family encourages friends and family to write down their most memorable moments to be shared at the gathering.

Howard was born Sept. 22, 1935, in Sumner, Wash.

He married Doris Boucher on Oct. 17, 1956, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The couple lived in Cut Bank

until he was discharged from the Air Force in 1957. They moved to Auburn, then moved to Havre in 1963.

He owned and operated Havre Radio and TV Sales and Service shop for 25 years. In 1988, he moved to Auburn with his wife, where they lived for 14 years and ran a successful antique business.

He was a member of the Havre Jaycees and Optimist Clubs for years and was a current member of the B.P.O.E. Elks Club in Havre. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his many friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Doris Howard; daughters, Marla (Donny) Boyce of Havre, Eddi Joe (Rob) Squires of Nashville, Tenn., Susan Rogge of Jordan, and Lori Prewitt of Havre; son, Wm. Mark (Margaret) Howard of Auburn, Wash.; brother, Robert Howard of Tacoma, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
