DON HOLST, Obituary

MISSOULA Don C. Holst peacefully passed away on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2002, at a Missoula hospital.

Don was born Aug. 20, 1925, in Fargo, N.D., to Lida B. Chalmers and Carl Holst. He grew up in Plentywood and spent many summers in Winona, Minn., at his grandpar-

ents' farm. Don attended Plentywood High School and participated in football, basketball and track.

In 1942, Don joined the U.S. Navy and served aboard an LST in the Pacific Theater of World War II. Sailing was in his blood, and he continued to go to sea with the Merchant Marines, which enabled him to visit ports all over the world. He g...
