VINCENT OHARA, Obituary

FORT BENTON Vincent O. O'Hara, 90, Great Falls, a longtime farmer and rancher in the Fort Benton area, died Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2002, at a Great Falls hospital of natural causes.

Vigil services will be 7 p.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fort Benton. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Immacu-late Conception. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in the O'Hara family plot.

Vincent was born on July 24, 1912, in Fort Benton to Oliver and Magdalena (Kleinert) O'Hara, who homesteaded east of Fort Benton. He attended a one-room school, the Roddy School, and spent his youth as a ranch hand and farmer.

He married Margaret Redant on Dec. 1, 1941, in Everett, Wash. Vincent and Margaret farmed in the Goosebill area north of Fort Benton from 1943 until his retirement in 1977. They moved to Fort Benton where they resided until moving to Great Falls in 2000.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his extended family and many friends. He was known for his generosity and kind ways.

Vincent was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Ellise; brother, Carl O'Hara; and sisters, Mary O'Hara and Magdalyn Engellant.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Great Falls; son, Michael (Diana) of Fort Benton; daughters, Patricia (William) Szudera and Mary Louise (John) McShane of Havre; brothers, Francis and William O'Hara of Fort Benton; six grandsons; four granddaughters; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Benton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
