Northerns final rodeo results

The Montana State University-Northern women's rodeo team finished fourth overall at the final National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Big Sky regional rodeo hosted by UM-Western at Dillon's Harry Andrus Arena at the Beaverhead County Fairgrounds.

The women were paced by Jaley Wacker's first place finish in breakaway roping. Wacker, a Roundup native, finished first in the long go-around with a solid time of 2.6 seconds. She finished second in the short-go with a time of 3.0 seconds to leave her first in the average. Wacker is ranked fourth in the Big Sky region.

Heather Brandt also placed for the women. Brandt finished 10th in the long-go with a time of 18.66 seconds and seventh in the short-go with a 18.76. Brandt finished seventh in the average.

Although the men's team did not place, it did have two good performances.

Havre high grad Doug Kallenberger second in the saddle bronc average. Kallenberger scored a 68 in the long-go and 73 in the short-go. Kallenberger is leading the Big Sky region in the saddle bronc.

Dale Stoller also had a solid showing in the bareback. Stoller scored a pair of 65's in the long-go and short-go to finish third in the average. He is currently third in the Big Sky region.

The Northern rodeo team is now off until practice begins on Feb. 1. However, the team will host its Cowboy Christmas fundraiser on Dec. 7 at the VFW in Havre.
