THOMAS DENLEY, Obituary

BIG SANDY Thomas A. Denley Jr., 79,. died Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, at a Big Sandy medical facility of natural causes.

Cremation has taken place.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Big Sandy Cemetery, with the Rev. Marvin Eldridge officiating.

Thomas was born to Thomas and Grace (Beede) Denley on April 1, 1923, in Ely, Minn. He attended school in Ely and obtained his GED while serving in the Army Air corps during World War II. While serving, he was stationed in China, Burma, and India theater, where he earned three bronze stars. he served as top gunner on a B-25.

Upon discharge from the service, he worked construction in the Pacific Northwest on the Grand Coulee Dam and other projects. He later was hired by the Postal Service in Seattle.

After retiring from the Postal Service, Thomas moved to Box Elder.

Thomas was member of the VFW in Havre and the AARP.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Grace Denley; sisters, Mary P. Denley and Dorothy Bitz; brother, Donald Denley.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
