HELEN FIELD, Obituary

Helen Marie Field, 84, a retired dry goods manager, died Oct. 2, 2002, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jane Mills officiating. Burial is to follow at the Highland Cemetery. Following the commit-

tal service, there will be a fellowship in the church.

Helen was born April 9, 1918, to William Gray and Mary Etta (Myers) Brown at Box Elder. She attended grade school and high school in Box Elder and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1938.

On July 20 1939, Helen married Philip Henry Field in the home of Dr. Houtz in Havre. To this union, four children were born. Philip preceded her in death.

Helen was the manager of the dry goods department of the Buttrey Department Store from 1947 to 1972, when she retired after 25 years of dedicated service.

Helen was a member of the Eastern Star, a volunteer for Northern Montana Hospital, and was active in the lady's auxiliary with the Presbyterian Church.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, William Gray and Mary Etta (Myers) Brown; husband, Phillip Field on March 3, 2002; brothers, William and Donald Brown; and sister, Dorothy Yates.

Survivors include her sister, Mary (James) White of Hingham; sons, Dwayne (Sharon) Field of Caramillo, Calif., and Ronald (Gloria) Field of Denver, Colo.; daughters, Phyllis (Jerry) Hurley of Great Falls and Linda (David) Keeler of Havre; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials in Helen's honor may be made to: the Havre/Hill County Library, 402 Third St., Havre, MT 59501; the First Presbyterian Church, 701 Fourth Ave., Havre, MT 59501; or the Shriner's Children's Hospital, P. O. Box 2472, Spokane, WA 99210-2472.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
