Turnovers plague Northern in loss

An old ghost came back to haunt the Montana State University-Northern football team on Saturday. After seemingly exorcising turnovers from its offense, Northern committed five turnovers all interceptions in a 34-20 loss to UM-Western in Dillon.

A turnover is costly anytime. While only two of Northern's turnovers directly led to points, they did cost the Lights scoring opportunities and bog down the offense. Northern quarterback Brandon Kerkes was intercepted on four consecutive possessions in the first half and Northern's offense never had the ball long enough to establish any type of rhythm....
