Texas EquuSearch and the family and friends of Russell Turcotte are asking for help in Grand Forks, N.D.

EquuSearch, a search and recovery

team based in North Galveston County, Texas, will start a search for Turcotte on Oct. 18. Turcotte,

19, of Havre was last heard from in Grand Forks on June 12, when he called his mother, Linda Flynn of Wolf Point, to ask for some money to take the train back to Montana. She wired the money the next day, but Turcotte never picked it up.

The search is expected to take place Oct. 18-19 unless additional leads extend it. All volunteers will be asked to provide identification so a background check can be done. The assistance asked for is:

People 18 and over to help with the physical search;

Horses for searching in rural and brush areas;

Four-wheel drive vehicles;

Ham radio groups;

Citizen band radio groups;

Walkie-talkies;

Topographical maps of the Grand Forks area;

A facility to use as a command center;

Food and beverages for the volunteers.

Anyone wanting more information or who would like to volunteer can contact Texas EquuSearch at e-mail address [email protected], or (877) 270-9500, or e-mail the Turcotte family at [email protected].
