Ponies look for a win

Two volleyball teams that have been heading in the wrong direction will collide Saturday night at the Havre High gymnasium. Both the Havre Blue Ponies and C.M. Russell Rustlers have had their fair share of troubles lately on the volleyball court. Both teams will be looking at this match to turn things around.

The Ponies (7-10, 4-3) have lost four straight matches while CMR is winless on the season and coming off of a three-game pasting at the hands of Class A Lewistown last Friday.

The Rustlers' problems have been well-documented. The one match they did manage to win was subsequently forfeited because they had an ineligible player.

Despite the Rustlers' struggles, Havre head coach Lacy Anderson warns her team against taking them lightly.

"We're definitely not underestimating them at all," Anderson said. "We have seen them at the Electric City Classic, and although they didn't look very impressive, our team has seen firsthand what happens when they take a team for granted."

While the Rustlers' season has been rough from the very beginning, Havre has just recently fallen on hard times. Anderson has pointed to this weekend to get things turned around.

"I think this match comes at a good time for us," Anderson said. "We have been struggling lately, and to play a team like CMR when we're somewhat down could really give our team a lift if we can win this match."

The match between the Ponies and Rustlers will get under way at 7 p.m. Saturday.
