JOHN MOSHER, Obituary

John Mosher, 64, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, in Great Falls of complications from surgery.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fifth Avenue Christian Church with burial at Hill County Cemetery.

Mosher was born on March 18, 1938, in Janesville, Wis. He attended schools in Janesville, University of Whitewater, Wis., and Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Minneapolis. He served in the Wisconsin Air National Guard.

Mosher married Faye Hulsey in Topeka, Kan., in 1962.

Prior to moving to Havre in 1962, John worked for a radio station in St. Joseph, Mo., and KJAY radio station in Topeka, Kan. In Havre, he worked as an announcer for KOJM from 1962 until becoming an owner of KOJM/KPQX in April of 1972. Later, he and his business partner, David Leeds, purchased KRYK radio station in Chinook in 1997.

Mosher was a charter member of the Havre Optimist Club, member of BPO Elks, Rotary, Kiwanis, FOE, and chairman of the Havre Public School's board of trustees, and member and president of the Montana Broadcasters Association.

Mosher was an avid fly fisherman with other hobbies including hunting, fly tying, gardening and furniture refinishing.

Mosher was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Faye; daughter, Jeanine Roesner; son-in-law, Jim Roesner; three grandchildren; and brother, James Mosher of Janesville, Wis.

Arrangements are by Holland and Bonine.
