Julia F. Schwan, 84, retired from Havre Laundry, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2002, at a Havre hospital of natural causes.
Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Jude Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert D. Grosch officiating. Burial is to follow at the Calvary Cemetery. Fellowship to follow the committal rite at the St. Jude Parish Center. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
Julia was born March 3, 1918, to Anton and Julianna (Schwan) Schwan at Goldstone. Her family had moved to Goldstone in 1913 to homestead. Julia attended the
Goldstone Community School until the eighth grade. In Julianna's younger years, the Schwan family belonged to the St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Goldstone. Julia received her first communion and was confirmed at the St. Wenceslaus Church. Julia enjoyed walking, caring for the pets of her many friends and neighbors, feeding the birds, enjoying time with her nieces and nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Julianna (Schwan) Schwan; brothers, Andrew, Bernard, Joseph, Anton, Jack and one infant boy; sisters, Eva Maria Falla, Mary Hall, Tillie Miller and Sister Antonita Schwan.
She is survived by her brothers, Frank Schwan of Lothair and Paul Schwan of Havre; sisters, Pauline Laeupple of Havre, Aggie Sherman of Ronan and Theresa Houim of Spokane, Wash.; numerous nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
