ROBERT MCCROSKEY, Obituary

Robert C. McCroskey, 60, local physician died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002, at his home of cancer.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Havre High School auditorium. A fellowship will follow the memorial service in the foyer of

the auditorium. There will be a private family burial at the Black Hills National Cemetery.

McCroskey was born Dec. 2, 1941, in Ann Arbor, Mich., and raised in Rapid City, S.D. He graduated from high school in 1959 and completed his undergraduate work at the University of Wyoming in Laramie in 1962.

He attended medical school at the University of South Dakota from 1962 through 1964 and medical school at Temple University from 1964 through 1966. He completed his internship in Albuquerque, N.M., from 1966 through 1967.

He served two years in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and was honorably discharged as a captain on Sept. 7, 1969.

He married Mary Lynn on Nov. 2, 1968. They had two children: Rob in 1973 and Kim in 1975.

He did his residency from 1969 through 1972 in Albuquerque, N.M. He moved to Havre and joined the Havre Clinic in 1972.

He was chief of staff at Northern Montana Hospital, medical director of Northern Montana Care Center, and a member of the hospital board.

His favorite hobby was fly-fishing on the reservoirs surrounding Havre.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William McCroskey.

He is survived by his wife, Mary McCroskey of Havre; son, Robert "Rob" McCroskey of Chicago, Ill., and his fianc Shari Ostrom of St. Paul, Minn .; daughter, Kim (Jon) Tripp of Billings; two grandchildren; sister, Patti (Ken) Zenor of San Clementa, Calif .; and brother, John (Lydia) McCroskey of Brenham, Texas.
