DORIS PRICE, Obituary

TURNER/HAVRE Doris Lorrain Price, 76, of Havre died on Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at her home of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the American Lutheran Church in Turner. Burial is to follow at the Turner Cemetery.

Doris was born on Jan. 24, 1926, to Ingvald and Hilma (Slotsve) Rude on the family farm west of Turner. She was raised there and attended school at Turner. She attended and graduated from Northern Montana College and taught in various rural schools.

Doris married Virgil Clyde Price on July 5, 1946, in Great Falls. They resided in Great Falls and then moved to the family farm at Turner. They moved into Turner in 1963, where Doris was involved in the family lumber yard business and owned and operated school buses, as well as substituting in the kitchen at the school.

After the loss of her husband, Virgil, on July 27, 1984, Doris relocated to Havre and was employed at Northern Montana Hospital in the dietary department until her retirement in 1998.

Doris loved her family, friends, a good cup of coffee and a good book.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a daughter, Sally Haack.

Survivors include her sons, Bill (Joy) Price of Auburn, Wash., Jim (Lula) Price of Shawmut; daughters, Darlene (Clayton) Hornung of Baker, and Donna (Jeff) Whitmus of Havre; sister, Thelma Swenson of Billings; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, LeRoy Haack of Laurel.
