Russell Douglas Turcotte, 19, of Havre died on July 15, 2002, near Devils Lake, N.D.

Funeral services were scheduled for 10 a.m. today at the Wolf Point High School auditorium, officiated by traditionalist Joe Iron Man of Fort Kipp and Robert Four Star of Wolf Point. Interment was to be in Greenwood Cemetery in Wolf Point.

Russell was born on Oct. 25, 1982, in Wolf Point to William J. and Linda L. Flynn Turcotte. He grew up in Wolf Point and Havre. He attended elementary school in Wolf Point and Havre, two years in the Billings school system, and his freshman and sophomore years in Wolf Point. He then moved to Havre to be with his dad and graduated from Havre High in May of 2001. He worked at Albertsons in Havre and then worked at Taco Time in Havre. Russell then went to firefighting school and spent last summer fighting fire.

Russell loved music, skateboarding and making new friends. He had a smile for everybody. He was a peace-loving man who gave up his boxing because he did not want to fight anymore. Russell was a life member of the 4-20 Fish & Hunt Club.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Jay Flynn and Cecil Bennett; grandmother, Kathryn Turcotte; and special niece, Kathryn Grace Turcotte.

Survivors include his mother, Linda L. Flynn of Wolf Point; father, William J. Turcotte of Havre; grandmother, Mary Anderson of Billings; brothers, Michael (Patricia) Turcotte of Missoula and Jacob (Angie) Turcotte of Chinook; sister, Amy Turcotte of Missoula; stepbrothers, Matthew and Jonathan Haigler of Havre; good friend, Paul Krezlak of Havre; family friend, Russell Hansen of Wolf Point; and numerous special cousins, uncles and aunts.
