CHARLES HUMES, Obituary

PENDROY Lifelong Montana resident Charles "Charlie" Lee Humes, 71, died Nov. 18, 2002, at his home north of Pendroy of natural causes.

At the family's request, no services are planned at this time. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Gorder Funeral Home of Choteau.

Charlie was born Dec. 26, 1930, on the family homestead in Eskay to Mary and Chester Humes.

He served his country during the Korean War in the U.S. Army, assigned to the front lines where he earned the Bronze Star for his bravery.

Returning from the war, he relocated to Great Falls, working various mechanic jobs. He also enjoyed a long time affiliation with The Diamond Cab Company, both as a driver and a dispatcher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, a sister, a niece and a nephew.

He is survived by his daughters, Charlene Figarelle of Anchorage, Alaska, Theresa Humes of Portland, Ore., and Leann Humes of Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren; sister, Christine Lyon; and several nieces and a nephew.
