RODNEY WILLIAMS, Obituary

LEWISTOWN Rodney Lee Williams, 52, of Lewistown, formerly of Havre, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at his home after a long battle with cancer.

Cremation has taken place. No services are planned on his request. A memorial service will be held at the Williams family reunion.

Rod was born Nov. 21, 1949, in Havre to

Armin D. and Lilly Williams. In his youth, he was active in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. While in high school he worked on Mark and Lee Daniels' farms. He graduated from Havre High School in 1968.

Rod was a Vietnam veteran. He worked for Hi-Line Well Drilling and on oil well rigs.

He married Michelle Mosher in Fort Benton on Dec. 15, 1973. They had one son and were later divorced.

He met Jane Patranek while going to college in Missoula. They were married in Havre on Nov. 20, 1981. They moved to Lewistown in 1982, where he worked for the gypsum plant and for the city and park until his health failed.

Rod enjoyed hunting until his health failed, but still enjoyed fishing, camping, visiting relatives and friends, and family reunions.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua, and his father, Armin D. Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Jane of Lewistown; son, Michael at home in Lewistown; daughter, Jennifer (Bob) Snyder, and granddaughter, Rainy, all of Seely Lake; mother, Lilly Williams of Havre; brothers, Russell (Susan) Williams of Havre, Larry (Sara) Williams of Wilber, Neb., and Armin Jr. (Doris) Williams of Hallam, Neb .; four nieces and four nephews.
