ROBERTA TVARUZEK, Obituary

Roberta N. Tvaruzek, 88, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at a Havre care facility of natural causes.

Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Steve Flatau officiating. Burial is to follow at the Highland Cemetery.

Fellowship is to follow the committal rite at the Assembly of God Church.

Roberta was born Sept. 20, 1914, to John and Nellie (Irey) Burgess at Petroleum, Ind. A midwife delivered her and her twin brother, Robert. She attended Heartford Grade School. In 1924, they moved from Indiana to Lance Creek, Wyo., where her father worked as superintendent of the oil fields.

On Aug. 20, 1935, she married Darrell Tvaruzek. They divorced in 1957.

Roberta was active in teaching Sunday school. She worked at the Kennedy Deaconess Hospital in Havre as manager of housekeeping and laundry, then as a dietitian along with her job as manager. When the hospitals in Havre merged as Northern Montana Hospital, she continued as manager of housekeeping for 34 years. She retired for two years and returned to work at the hospital for another eight years.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, John and Nellie (Irey) Burgess; twin brother, Robert; brothers, Gerald, Vaughn, Dale, and Don; twin daughter, Gladys.

Roberta is survived by her daughter, Gloria (Roger) Heil of Havre; grandson, Steve (Peggy) Heil of Havre; two great-granddaughters of Havre; brother, John Burgess of Laramie, Wyo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Roberta's honor may be made to the Havre Assembly of God Church, 901 Ninth St. W., Havre, MT 59501.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
