Skylights ink volleyball recruit

Montana State University-Northern head volleyball coach Lisa Handley announced the signing of 5-10 outside attacker Lindsay Garcia.

Garcia hails from Lewistown and is a 2001 Fergus High School graduate. She graduated from high school with many accomplishments to show for her hard work and dedication to the sport of volleyball. She was a four-year, varsity letter winner, Central A Divisional Tourney All-Tournament team player, and Academic All-State player.

Garcia was also honored, three out of her four-year varsity stint, by being named to first and second team all-conference, and first and second team all-state.

Garcia was initially recruited by MSU-Northern during her senior year while she was attending the 2001 ABC All-Star tournament in Havre. However, she announced her decision to attend Sheridan College in Wyoming during that tournament. Garcia left Sheridan after only one semester and has been attending MSU-Bozeman for the past year.

After the break, Garcia found a desire to get back into the sport, she had put so much time and effort in. Handley was more than willing to give her the opportunity to play again.

"Lindsay was a great high school player that I was hoping to sign two-years ago," Handley said. "I think the time she took off and her excitement to play again will help Lindsay gain her skills and shape back again and make her a better player in the long run."

Garcia will be attending MSU-Northern this spring where she will begin conditioning and training with the team and studying business technology.
