Big Sandy maintains hold atop 9C

The conference races in District 9C and District 2B girls high school basketball continued to take shape over the weekend. The Big Sandy Pioneers maintained their stranglehold on the 9C race, but the Blue Sky Eagles managed to keep pace and the Box Elder Bears are lurking in the race as well.

On Thursday night in Chester, the second-ranked Belt Huskies defeated the Chester Coyotes, 45-40. The Huskies held a 24-17 lead at the half and despite a Chester run in the third quarter, the Huskies were able to hold the Coyotes off.
