Screaming Beaver Tube Run will make a Thursday debut

The prayers of winter warriors waiting to hit the slopes will be answered this week with the opening of the Bear Paw Ski Bowl and the Screaming Beaver Tube Run.

The snow gods blessed the Chippewa Cree Recreation Area with 3 feet of snow last weekend, allowing the area to open to downhillers.

The much anticipated opening of the ski hill will occur Sunday, while Thursday marks the grand opening of the new tube run.

Dave Martens, who manages the ski bowl, said snowpack at the base of the mountain is between 12 and 20 inches.
