Lights sign MCC standout

Montana State University-Northern head men's basketball coach Shawn Huse announced the recent signing of Trenton Harbaugh to the Lights.

Originally from Miles City, Harbaugh is a 6-7 center for the Miles Community College Pioneers, who leads his team in rebounds and field goal percentage at seven rebounds per game and 54 percent respectively.

Harbaugh's rebound average ranks him 13th in the very talented 18-team Region IX Junior college division.

"I am very excited about adding Trenton to our roster," Huse said. "He possesses the rare ability to get a hand on almost every rebound and loose ball. He defends extremely well and is very athletic for a guy his size."

Harbaugh also averages eight points per game for the Pioneers and will provide an immediate impact next season.

"After losing Kent Douglas and Charlie Ereaux to graduation, Trenton has the potential to fill a void in the middle for the Lights next year and beyond," Huse said. "His good character, work ethic and desire are qualities that exemplify the type of people we are looking for in our program."

Harbaugh also is a strong presence in the classroom. He currently carries a 3.78 cumulative GPA. Following graduation at MSU-Northern, he plans to enter the field of law enforcement.
