FRANCES INMAN

Frances Lorraine Inman, 94, died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at a Havre Care Center of natural causes.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Rampelberg officiating. The committal rite will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Havre. A fellowship luncheon will follow the committal service at the Havre Eagles Club.

Frances was born Dec. 2, 1908, to Frank and Eva (Reisinger) Thomas in Britt, Iowa, the fourth of six children. At the age of four she moved with her family to homestead in the Fresno area. She attended elementary school south of Fresno, and high school in Fresno, finally graduating from Havre High School in 1926. She then attended and graduated from Aberdeen Teacher's College in Aberdeen, S.D. She taught at the Grainbelt and Border Schools north of Havre, the Harron School south of Havre, and the Lindstrom School south of Fresno.

Frances married Bert Inman, Jr. Nov. 29, 1934. To this union two sons were born. The family farmed in the Fresno area until retirement in 1969. After retiring they moved to Martin City. Bert passed away Sept. 13, 1970. Frances then moved to Havre in 1980. She then moved to the Northern Montana Care Center in 2001.

Frances was a charter member of the Havre Aerie Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary, a member of the First Presbyterian Church and she attended the Fifth Avenue Christian Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed writing about the homestead days and had several articles published in the Havre Daily News. She took up painting after she was 75 and enjoyed it very much. She also loved to spend time with her family and at the senior center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Eva (Reisinger) Thomas; brother, Cecil Thomas; sisters, Bessie Clark, Evelyn Johnson, Ilene Haxton; grandson, James John Inman.

Survivors include her sons, John L. (Beverly) Inman and Charles (Burn Ace) Inman, both of Havre; sister, Helene Wynn of Mesa, Ariz .; sister-in-law, Irene Damschen of Havre; grandchildren, Joyce (Scott) Billmayer of Conrad, Judy Inman of Phoenix, Ariz., Jill (Loren) Krass of Hogeland, Robert (Twila) Inman of Conrad, Craig Inman of Havre, Chris Inman of Havre; nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Frances' honor may be made to North Central Senior Citizens Center, 2 2nd St. W., Havre, MT 59501.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home in Havre.
