WILLIAM R. ANDERSON obituary

William R. Anderson, 72, a retired Burlington Northern Santa Fe engineer, died March 21, 2003, at a Great Falls hospital of natural causes.

Viewing will be at the First Lutheran Church in Havre on Friday from noon to 1:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church, fol-

lowed by a reception at the Eagles Club.

Born and raised in Great Falls, he married Evelyn Zachary in 1948. He worked on the family farm until 1952 when he moved to Havre and worked for the Great Northern Railway as a fireman.

Bill always loved stock car racing and was the state champion several times. In his later years, he and his wife traveled many miles on their motorcycle and in their motor home, spending many winters in Arizona. They also loved to restore and rebuild old Ford automobiles and attended many car shows. Bill was a Shriner, Mason and a lifetime member of the Dutton Montana Lodge.

Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Anderson; father, Dave Anderson; brother, David Anderson; and a baby daughter, Penny Kay Anderson.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Anderson of Havre; children, JW Anderson of Havre, Kathleen Anderson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Christine Anderson of Anchorage, Alaska and Mike (Pat) Anderson of Havre; brother, James (Louise) Anderson of Great Falls; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five nieces and nephews and their children.

Memorials may be sent to the Shriners Hospital.
