Glasgow lawyer joins field

A Glasgow lawyer has announced he will seek the state district judge vacancy in the Twelfth Judicial District.

James D. Rector said today he has applied for the judgeship, which is seated in Havre. The spot was left vacant earlier this month by the resignation of John Warner. Warner, a Great Falls native, was sworn in Monday to the Montana Supreme Court after 15 years as district judge.

Rector has operated a private law firm in Glasgow for 24 years. He graduated from Montana State University-Eastern in 1972 with a degree in business. During the mid 1970s he worked in Great falls as a trust off...
