GRACE BOGUT obituary

Grace Montana Sherry Bogut, 88, of Havre died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, May 20, 2003, due to natural causes.

A prayer vigil service was scheduled for Monday evening at the Holland and Bonine Funeral Home. A funeral Mass was 10 a.m. today at the St. Jude Catholic Church with the Rev. Bob Erickson officiating. Burial was to follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Havre. A luncheon was planned at the St. Jude Parish Center immediately following the graveside services.

Grace was born on Dec. 4, 1914, to Frank J. and Amanda E. (Johnson) Sherry at Fort Benton. As a young girl she moved with her family to Red Stone, where she attended schools and graduated from high school. Grace then went on to further her education by attending nursing training at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Havre. She completed her training and became a registered nurse.

She met Leonard Bogut in 1938 and they were married shortly thereafter. The couple made their home in North Dakota before moving back to Havre in 1945.

Grace was an active member of the St. Jude Catholic Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leonard Bogut in 1986; and seven brothers and sisters.

Grace is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Carl) West of Converse Texas; sister, Harriet Smith of Havre; brother, Tom Sherry of Maple Valley, Wash.; grandchildren, April Brook, Kathi Godina, Peggy Held, and Rebelle Hartley; and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials in Grace's honor may be made to the St. Jude School Education Trust Fund, 624 Fourth St., Havre, MT 59501.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
