VIVIAN VAN DUSEN obituary

MISSOULA - Vivian V. (Johnson) Van Dusen, 75, died May 20, 2003, after a lengthy illness at her home in Hunter's Glen, surrounded by her family.

There will be no services at her request.

Vivian was born in Hood River, Ore., to Bert and Juanita Van Cise on Oct. 26, 1927. She was raised from an early age by Howard and Juanita Davis in the Longview/Kelso, Wash., area.

Vivian married George Johnson and they moved to Havre, where they raised their three children. After 27 years of marriage, she divorced George and returned to Longview, Wash., where she met and married Frank Van Dusen.

Vivian and Frank traveled extensively during their marriage, including Reno and Las Vegas. They enjoyed bowling and bingo. They were active members of the Eagles in Kelso and were volunteers at the St. John's Hospital in Longview. They were both named Volunteers of the Year during the numerous years of service.

Vivian and Frank were married for 23 years before Frank's death. After his death, she returned to Missoula to be closer to her children.

Vivian is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; and brother, Kenneth Van Cise.

Survivors include her daughters, Sharon (Eric) Traber of Spokane, Wash., Loree (Jack) Dark of Missoula; son, Greg (Leslyn) Johnson of Laurel; brothers, John Van Cise of Kerrville, Texas, and Dale Davis of Castle Rock, Wash.; sister-in-law, Lil Van Cise of Longview, Wash.; and six grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Partners in Home Care - Hospice, 500 N. Higgins Ave., Suite 201, Missoula, MT 59802.

Arrangements are by the Montana Cremation & Memorial Society in Missoula.
