AUDREY McKNIGHT obituary

Audrey Irene McKnight, 77, of Havre died Sunday, May 25, 2003, at her home of natural causes.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Cathrine Card officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery. A

fellowship will be held at the First Lutheran Church immediately after the graveside services.

Audrey was born Nov. 16, 1925, to Gunval and Julia (Bjorlokken) Torkelson in Strandquist, Nelson Park Township, Minn. Audrey grew up in Karlstad, Minn. and graduated from Karlstad High School. She then attended Grand Forks Business College for one year. She worked as a bookkeeper for Buttrey's and Getter Trucking in Cut Bank. After moving to Havre she worked for Gamble Robinson, Buttrey's Department Store, Honadel, Don's Pharmacy and John Deere.

In 1952 she met Minor R. McKnight. They were married Aug. 9, 1952, in Havre.

Audrey had nine hobbies all disguised as grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gunval and Julia Torkelson, one brother and one sister.

Survivors include her husband, Minor R. McKnight of Havre; sons, Greg (Ann) McKnight of Havre and Robert (Cynthia) McKnight of Irvine, Calif.; daughters, Janet (Greg) Van Kleeck of Seward, Alaska, Cheryl (Gary) Schaub of Havre, and Carol (Greg) Minnick of Havre; sisters, Alice Hodne of Karlstad, Minn., Lu Darkenwald of Long Prairie, Minn., Lorraine Costello of Brookings, S.D., and Evelyn Warnes of Morris, Minn.; brothers, Harold Torkelson of Karlstad, Minn.; Clifford Torkelson of Karlstad, Minn.; Gerald Vigstal of Minneapolis, Minn.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials in Audrey's honor may be made to The First Lutheran Church, 303 Sixth Ave., Havre, MT 59501.

Services and arrangements are under the direction of Holland and Bonine Funeral Home.
